This past week due to injury I still was not able to get much done painting wise but have tried to do some research and make improvements to my work space to help with the rest of the semester.
The pain I have been experiencing has been very debilitating and I have been instructed by doctors to not further my issues with working at my computer or anything that involves my left hand/ arm. This is unrealistic and I will have to use it, but I did try and give it a break to try and help. I also will be hopefully getting some stronger pain medication to help me through the finish of the semester.
I watched several videos about how to quicken your pace for digital painting and other handy tricks that can speed up the process.
I did some actual acrylic painting to try to stay artistically active while not being able to use my left hand which I realized I rely on heavily for creating digital paintings, using shortcuts, and switching between all the different tools used in Photoshop.
Not being able to use it was a major hindrance and drastically slowed me down to the point where the frustration got the better of me.
I researched the ways I could correct my posture and work positioning to help better my physical situation. My upper back and neck muscles are in very poor shape currently and causing me a lot of pain. This is die to more serious issues but my posture of how I have been working at my computer certainly hasn't helped. My computer screen is now raised and close to eye level so I keep my neck straighter rather than bent down. I also got a new desk chair with lots of support for my back and arms rather than the old wooden dining room chair I was using before.
I completed my Research Paper Outline and was able to do some minor work on more character clothing in a few of my paintings. I am hoping by focusing on rest this past week I will be able to work harder/ longer on digitally painting in the upcoming weeks.
