Work this week.

This week I worked more on my character for my character pipeline and got all of her outfit done besides the hood because I want to include hair first. There was a lot of trial and error with this but by the end of it I feel like I got the hang of Marvelous Designer really well. I really enjoy the program.

For drawing this week I worked on developing technical skills and exercises.

I practiced making several pages of circles, ellipses, and straight lines very quickly. The reason for this is that they make up the basic shapes of characters and I can get a rough out much quicker.

I also did a study of a heeled boot. It's something I use a lot on my character and often I have a hard time with the heel and getting it to read right. For the exercise I did two sketches from observational drawings and then the last one just from my memory. I was really surprised with how fast I was able to get the last boot down.

I also did a basic sketch and a more detailed sketch of the next character I want to create a full piece for in photoshop. My idea prompt I went with was flight and I had the idea of doing a picture of an owl girl. Again I am not using any photo references for the character or pose. Just a reference of a horned owl for colors.

Here is a WIP shot. I still need to add her wings, some feathers to her body, as well as more details. Also make a few corrections with the liquefy tool at the end .

Originally I was just thinking of adding the two branches in but I want to give more detail into the scene than that. Also I wanted it to be nighttime but I think I should make the background lighter in the end.
