Getting Better

This week I feel I have been much more productive.
For starters, this week I did a full character turn around for an original character for my Character Pipeline Class. I was not sure about the first few black and white rough paintings I did but I was super happy with the 3/4 colored part. I like her design with her jacket off much more, but the jacket helps her blend in better to the city in which she lives. I also had to come up with a backstory which was surprisingly one of the hardest things.

For this weeks VLD drawing I chose to do a leather skirt. I was happy with how it came out. This exercise is really helpful. With a better understanding of clothing and how things look/work it has made drawing from my mind so much easier and quicker.

I did not finish my other painting I was working on but made a lot of progress with it. I ended up giving her much more of an armored body than a human/skin body because I wanted her to be more monstrous? I still want to add in more denials and make the shading on her body and claws a bit smoother. Also looking at her now I think her arms need another light tone to make them less flat and something (maybe a necklace?) on her chest?

This week I also completed my outline for my research paper and completed my Art and Fear novel I was reading which I will use in my paper.
I also read more from our required reading Digital Art and did a a presentation on the artist Erwin Redel (who was in the reading) for my Art of interactive History class. I enjoy his artwork.
