This week was a bit rough for me for personal and health issues but the following is what I completed.

For my VLD drawing I wanted to do a fancy dress because originally I thought I was going to create a noble like character with a dress for my turnaround drawing. I spent a little more time on these this week mostly because I chose to also include studies of the figures as well. The VLD pieces have been really helpful to me and I thought that since I focus on drawing people, that practicing them in the studies would really benefit me as well. I noticed at the end that mine out of my head was a lot more symmetrical than the others, this is something I want to be more careful with and avoid in the future.

I worked on several concept sketches for a new character. Originally I did not know if this was going to be on I used for my more focused paintings or for character turnarounds.

I ended up using it for turnarounds as well. This is a wip shot, last week I did my turnarounds very loosely. This time I am spending more time on it in effort to have a much more detailed piece overall. I did learn that having background, like I included in the character turnaround last week, is not good. The reason I wanted it was to help push the tone of the character, so it is important that I can show that through the character alone. So I am going to keep the background simple and get much more detail in the character.

I also made a presentation on the artists Eva and Franco Mattes from 0100101110101101.org . Their work is interesting.

This next week I am going to finish this character turnaround, work on (hopefully finish) the Gargoyle piece, and write my essay.
