3d in Digital Painting
WLOP is one of my favorite digital artists. I have been following them for a really long time and absolutely adore their work, this week I saw this process video by them that utilizes 3D modeling for part of creating their digital painting. This is something that Professor Parker introduced me to last year and while at them time (and still now) it seemed to be very intimidating, I can not deny that this is such a useful and brilliant way to work.
This is so cool because they only had to create the main piece (the piano) of their digital painting once, and then just changed the angel using Photoshop 3D and drew in the character for different shots/digital paintings. While it may not be something that is relevant to this project as of now it is something that I definitely want to try in the future.
This Weeks Progress
So....Kinda Hard to follow up with my art after seeing the beauty that is WOLP but that is one of the main reasons of this blog so here it is. This week I created new photoshop documents that were not insainley and unnecessarily large brought my work from last week into them and continues my drawing process. I added more to my sketches and then also added in grayscale values so I can get a better idea of balance and how the lighting will be in the pieces.
I had both a large and small moon and decided I liked that the small one was realistic. I was also considering making the lighting in the city more similar to the first one but again, having it all lit up is much more realistic. I did darken it slightly on the edges so it went together more. There also will be shells in the beach picture and then dead turtles in the road picture, but besides that I'm pretty happy with the placement of things and the layout, so I don't think I'll be doing much more digitally as far as the ocean painting goes but will move on to digitally painting the road version.
This week I also plan to cut down the giant case so it can be brought into our apartment, because it is too tall to fit through the doors. I also need to make room to put it somewhere in the living room because we won't be able to get it anywhere beyond that because the hall is too tight.
Arduino Multiple LED SIK
This week I also had to put together this Arduino project that uses multiple LEDs for my Human & Computer Interactions course. This project utilized for loops and arrays on the programming side of things, I am starting to get more of an understanding of the programming and a little more comfortable writing code, so that is cool.
In this video you can watch the light move in several different patterns, lights turning on/off one after the other in order, lights turning on/off one at a time, "Ping Pong" where it travels back and forth, Marquee - the two moving (like what you would see on a old broadway sign) and then random, which happens fast so watch out!
